Astronaut
03:26
|
|||
I could be an astronaut
the space that I take up
Or a cowboy riding endlessly until the sun has had enough.
Weightless in my waking life, twisting with the stars
A horizon filled with city lights makes the landscape cold and hard.
I try so very hard
to be the best I can
and love with all my heart
at every chance I get
If I fall back down
If I fall back down again
I'll brush my self right off and stand up tall while facing all prevailing winds.
I could be in Wisconsin diggin’ in the dirt
or on top a mountain in Vermont looking down on to the earth
All that time that gravity has been tuggin’ at my shoes makes me want to fly away so far into the sky so big and blue.
I try so very hard
to be the best I can
and love with all my heart
at every chance I get
If I fall back down
If I fall back down again
I'll brush my self right off and stand up tall while facing all prevailing winds.
So no no don’t you worry
Some day I’ll settle down
but this fire in my belly
is burning hot right now
'cause I’m wandering.

Brick On Brick
04:59
|
|||
Mason jars to count the stars
Morning comes to bring the rain
Brick on brick life just aint the same
Rollin hills and skys so blue
Now belong to yesterday
Brick on brick life just aint the same
Watching smoke (rise and rise in front of me)
Drift away (amber chokes as the sun light fades)
From a lit cigarette to the lips of the sun at the end of the day
With good friends time never seems to end
It’s hard not to appreciate
The sun shine but it’s much to late
How do you know when its time to go
When there’s nothing left to celebrate
The sun shines but my soul still aches
Watching smoke (rise and rise in front of me)
Drift away (amber chokes as the sun light fades)
From a lit cigarette to the lips of the sun at the end of the day
Brick on brick, life just aint the same.

Time To Breathe
04:39
|
|||
Palm trees and evergreens
and all the things I’ve never seen
The city wears and tears
The city wears and tears
rest stops and valleys
spare change in alleys
city lines and everything in between
The places I’ll go
the things that I’ll see
never really mattered that much to me
See the way the concrete plays
So many folds I seem vague
Leaning on the wall last call and it’s the death of me
Rest stops and valleys
Spare change in alleys
City lines and everything in between
The places I’ll go
the things that I’ll see
never really mattered that much to me
I’m leaving home
I won't come back
I won't come back
I won’t come back
Highways and center lines
No better way to pass the time
and its time to breathe
Yeah, it's time to breathe
Rest stops and valleys
Spare change in alleys
City lines and everything in between
The places I’ll go
the things that I’ll see
never really mattered that much to me
I’m leaving home
I won't come back
I won't come back
I won’t come back
Pack my bags with plans of leaving.
Fill it up with all that I need.
Say goodbye to all the empty.
Headed off to a new beginning.
I’m leaving home
I won't come back
I won't come back
I won’t come back

Smokin'
04:14
|
|||
You know those guns, women, cigarettes
can’t stop you from falling down
Said I only smoke when I’m awake
but baby I’m awake all the time
It’s only worth it
when you know you’ve crossed the line.
When the plots are all the same
and that dirt road calls your name
I said Christ it’s a shame
the weight of worry on your mind
It’s only worth it
when you know you’ve crossed the line
It’s only worth it
when you know you’ve crossed the line
A long walk from my troubles
to my vice to take me away.
A long walk from my troubles
to my vice to take me away.
A long walk from my troubles
to my vice to take me away.
A long walk from my troubles
to my vice to take me away.

Radio
03:42
|
|||
Sing with me tonight my love
Sing the whole night through
as soon as this night is over
then I am through with you
Sing to me to night my dear
Sing it sad and smooth
The slower the song the better
don’t waste no time you fool
Baby, turn off the radio
the sun is coming up
and I feel I have to go
Baby, turn off the radio
the sun is coming up
and I feel I have to go
I’m walking out the door my dear headed far away
Take a look at what you’re missin'
I aint coming back this way
Maybe our paths will cross again
along this old dirt road
You’ll hear the song I’m singin'
when you’re feelin all alone
Baby, turn off the radio
the sun is coming up
and I feel I have to go
Baby, turn off the radio
the sun is coming up
and I feel I have to go
